Launched globally with multi-billion–dollar economic impact

I joined Amazon Business in 2024 and am leading design for the Amazon Business Credit Card, which offers rewards on purchases along with a suite of business-focused features. I redesigned the end-to-end customer experience for the next-generation product—including benefit education, application, onboarding, and ongoing card management. Launched globally in 2026, the product is projected to generate a multi-billion–dollar economic impact over the next several years.

Building Expertise

Even with experience across various industries and products, I was unfamiliar with Amazon Business and its credit card when I started. I enjoy challenges and am always excited to learn a new industry, business models, customers, and related products. Instead of jumping straight into my product area, I focused on understanding the big picture first—studying Amazon Business, its products, and customer segments.

Next, I dove into my product area—the Business Credit Card. Beyond studying the product and its history, I conducted competitive research, which provided valuable insights and generated ideas that informed my future design solutions.

Complexity in Collaboration

The Amazon Business Credit Card spans 10+ product areas and is connected to other products. I collaborate with 7+ roles across North America, Europe, and Japan, each with their own review processes. Ownership overlaps or gaps often occur, causing confusion and high communication costs.

I take ownership of the areas I lead, making decisions and sharing the rationale clearly. For co-owned areas, I align with stakeholders on responsibilities and expectations. For example, on the marketing page, the marketing team owned content and branding. I collaborated with their visual designers to clarify ownership, define processes, schedule check-ins, and share ideas openly while respecting decision-making authority.

Designing for the Long Term

I love exploring design ideas that create the best customer experience. But in reality, resource, time, and technical constraints often require launching an MVP first. I’ve learned to focus on delivering essential P0 features while keeping P1 and long-term product vision in mind. This means defining solid P0 design patterns that won’t conflict with future features or become throwaway work, but instead form a strong foundation for future evolution.

For example, knowing the FAQ list would continue to grow, I redesigned it with expandable sections, a search function, and future agentic-AI capabilities in mind.

Bigger Impact

I position myself as a product designer who goes beyond UX/UI execution. I think at a system level—connecting business goals, product strategy, user needs, and end-to-end experiences. I love researching, exploring, and proposing ideas that influence cross-functional teams.

A vision concept for the credit card experience

As AI rapidly evolves, I explored how agentic AI could transform the Amazon Business Credit Card experience. I identified key pain points and proposed a new pre-qualification flow that could reduce customer effort by roughly 90%. The concept was presented to leadership and influenced the future product roadmap.

Mentorship & Growth

I actively mentor junior designers and design students—supporting them in design skills, design thinking, portfolio building, and career development. Mentorship not only helps them grow but also sharpens my own craft. It pushes me to reflect on my practices and become a more thoughtful, intentional design leader.
